Indoors
Nexus 9000
The main residency building with 7 guestrooms, two fully equipped kitchens, three bathrooms, five toilets and many working spaces. Arteles offers refurnished accommodation and working studio spaces of various sizes. There are larger rooms suitable for group accommodations as well as private rooms. In the former school building, the spacious classrooms have been turned into multiple work stations: Nexus 9000 is renovated with new amenities and modern decor, though there are many surprising rooms to be discovered. There are some accommodations with workspace attached, which can be suitable for sound, media or artists requiring less/more space. There are also more secluded rooms suitable for writers or researchers.
Timber house
The historical value and functional qualities of Timber, the older building built in 1897, has been restored with respect to its long traditions. Arteles office and is also located here next to resident spaces.
Sauna
 The Arteles sauna is a traditional wood stove sauna that was built on 1961. It is a small cottage located in the backyard of the campus and it can be heat when ever you feel like it. The sauna is a substantial part of Finnish culture and serves as a place to relax with friends and family. It functions as a spiritual experience and gives physical and mental relaxation.

Spectacle Spaces
Formerly Known as Art Galleries
Traditional gallery spaces have become dead. We see no sense in having a 3 weeks exhibition if 98% percent of the visitors only come for the openings and the remainder of the time the gallery is empty. In place of a static gallery, we have replaced it with what we call “Spectacles”.
Spectacles focus resources to putting on dynamic and high-turnaround events often lasting one to three days. These are often multi-disciplinary and become hybrids of open-studios, installations, concerts and theater performances and “happenings”. Therefore any communal space within the center can be turned into a “Spectacle Spaces”. Below are some suggested Spectacle Spaces:

Outdoors: project field for arts & activities, workshop shed, surrounding forests and lake. |
